My Dad

If I could find the picture of my dad in mom's apron on the deck with his arms outstretched grasping barbecue utensils and a big smirk on his face as he's grilling burgers, I would have definitely preferred to post that.

My dad got set apart a few weeks ago as the bishop of his ward in Idaho. I wasn't there, though I wish I was.

My dad is the coolest dude that ever walked the earth. I say this in not so humble terms because, well, we have a lot of sarcastic fun when we're together. Now he's the bishop of his ward in Idaho, I wonder if he's changed all that much. I mean, aside from the mustache and beard being shaved, is he still the coolest dad ever? I'm sure he is.

I mention all this because I named my little baby boy "Sione Ronald Tapa". Ronald is my dad's name, and I'm calling the baby "Ronnie". Sione Tapa is the name of an uncle of my husband who is the prime minister of health in Tonga. I guess my DH wanted a doctor in the family so we have some $$ coming in when we retire (because we'll need it). This is me being sarcastic, by the way.

I started this post some time ago, so now I'll actually post it, and start taking some more baby pictures soon.

Things are good

Everyone keeps asking how I'm doing. Well, I can tell you that things are good. I'm sitting down at the computer relaxing while catching up on blog reading and catching up creating a post of my own. In the background, I am listening to Tekina sing her ABC's to Bubba-Doo (my nickname for little Sione) and Toa playing Go Fish with Noa. Finelea is rocking her doll in the portable swing that's meant for the baby, but more often gets used by the kiddos. Chicken thighs are crakling in the pan behind me, and my AC is still keeping me cool while it's still hot outside. We all were sick (except for Toa and Bubba-Doo -- thankfully) with some yucky stomache flu or something like it last week right when I got home from the hospital, but it looks as though we're all mostly over it. Other than that, there's the occassional worry that things won't last long, and we won't be able to keep making our mortgage payments in the Winter. I'm also worried about the diarrhea Finelea had last night and what that will mean for her upcoming surgery on Wednesday. I'm also worried about not being the best friend in the world, and kind of keeping to myself because I have no clothes that fit right (including bras -- uggh ... drawback of breastfeeding -- although my husband would disagree with me -- about the drawback part). But I'm feeling okay about things... yes, they are good, even though I have to leave in a few minutes to stuff my breast back in Bubba-Doo's mouth. So, let me entertain you with some pictures I took right before I sat my butt down to produce this post. Enjoy!
